As the night falls
and darkness is penciled into my eyes
the devils come out
and dance upon my flesh.
They rip my heart into pieces
and shred my box of emotions into fine dust.
Although there is a storm inside my head,
my body remains still, silent.
Only my hands are those in motion, grasping everything in their path:
hair
skin
nails
blankets
clothes.
As if they were trying to catch those devils.
As if my fingers were trying to find a meaning to all of this.
But eventually, the storms recede, and light enters my eyes once again.
And the world is at peace again.
I shall not succumb to the devils raging inside me.
